Reid is a Game Industry Veteran for 8 eight years. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Economics from Wharton Business School. He is currently a Senior Producer at EA Montreal. Previous to EA he worked at Ubi Soft Montreal and was a Producer on the original Splinter Cell. At Ubi Soft he also worked on the Batman, and Myst franchises. Currently, at EA, he is the Senior Producer on the Army of Two project. He has also worked on the Battlefield and Batman Franchiess at EA. Prior to Ubi Soft he worked at both New Line Cinema and NBC Television.

Vanderlei Caballero
Design Director
Electronic Arts-Montreal Studio

Vander Caballero has been the Design Director of EA Montreal since its opening in 2004. While his main focus has been to introduce innovation by changing the game design process, he has also worked in collaboration with Alain Tascan and Reid Schneider, in the development of EA's newest original IP "Army of Two". Before joining the Montreal Studio, Vander worked as an Art Director for the FIFA franchise at EA Vancouver. Vander studied Industrial Design at the "Instituto Europeo de Design", Italy. Upon his arrival in Montreal in 1998 he began to work in Virtual Reality & Architectural Visualization. In 1999, along with Daniel Langlois (Softimage founder), he co-founded the Montréal Studio 4-Elements. There Vander dedicated himself to the development of games—including 3DO's "Army men" and Southpeak's "Dukes of Hazard" franchise. Since joining EA Montreal, Vander has been a Chapter Adviser in the IGDA Montréal Chapter.

 

Building New IP and Innovation in Games, how to break out of the box.

Building new IP is one of the hardest challenges out there. At EA Montreal we are fiercely committed to not only creating new IP, but core innovation in games as well. The current marketplace is only getting tougher, and our customer more demanding. We need to innovate if we want to grow our business. This conference will give some insight into how we develop new IP, and how we are focused on innovation. We'll share some of the tools and tactics we use.

Takeaway: Attendees will leave the conference with new & alternate approaches to traditional game development.
